Hooray for Jorge!

It’s really hard to think or talk about Jorge without smiling. That’s because Jorge is simply put: a joy. He is a student who is enthusiastic about learning and his positive energy is contagious to all those around him.   As a fifth grader, Jorge has already surpassed the level of education that either of his parents was able to achieve when they lived in Mexico. He is fully aware of this good fortune and does everything he can to make his family proud and to make his education worth it. Jorge aspires to become a doctor and dreams of one day using that position to help others. Jorge is a diligent and inquisitive student who takes nothing for granted. 

Recently, Jorge was nominated to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum: Pathways to Stem. It's a unique learning experience for bright, forward-thinking elementary school students who will evolve into next generation innovators, engineers, doctors, software developers, and scientists.

In order to participate in this week-long STEM program, Jorge would need to stay overnight as he would not have transportation to and from DC. The residential program is available, but costs about $300 more than the day program. While there are three summer dates for students to choose from, there is one submission deadline for all: March 1, 2019. Please help us raise this money for this amazing child. Jorge is so deserving and would be so incredibly grateful.
