Honouring MMIWAG

Donation protected
We are going to honour the lives and legacies of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.  We've had two tragic events in our community and my goal is to honour our loved ones for who they are instead of being only known a statistic.   I also aim to raise awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
There is no amount to small to help my community.   We have visitors coming to the island.  Every dollar will go towards organizing the event  for example hors d'oeuvres, refreshments, gifts for traditional singers,  candles, poster boards, photos, etc.  I have a very small budget to survive every month and it's hard for me to ask for help but they're not taking anymore applications for the commemoration funds for MMIWAG.  Every dollar helps.  On May 05/19 the Nanational day of awareness of MMIWAG we are hosting a candlelight vigil in our community.  Friends and family are more than welcome to attend. This is the first time we host an event in our community and if everything goes well, we might create another event.  I would really like to thank my community, family and the Tsow-Tun-Lelum Society for their support.  Kim Brown, Denise James and I will be getting everything orgazined.  Please get in touch with any 3 of us if you are able to volunteer (even 30 minutes) of time to help prepare.
