Honoring Our Fallen Hero - For the Carter Family

Officer Wyt Carter was killed in the line of duty on early Sunday morning serving the great community of Birmingham. Officer Carter is the son of Mrs. Brenda Carter, a beloved staff member at UAB School of Optometry. Mrs. Brenda warmly and lovingly welcomes all who enter the lobby of the Henry B Peters building. Mrs. Brenda knows every student by name and brightens everyone's day with her infectious smile. If you ever took a moment to talk with her you know her family is her world. The loss of Officer Carter hit our school as if we were our own. The UAB School of Optometry community is here to support The Carter family during this difficult time. It is our honor to serve those who have served us.
