Honoring Mom

Over the last 3 weeks, mom's health has been declining rapidly. We took her to the hospital on 11/25 because she was too weak to get out of her chair.  We were told there was nothing wrong with her. We then contacted hospice to see if they could come evaluate her, but since she has no "terminal" type illness she did not qualify. 
Up until now, mom has been blessed to be able to live alone since we live right behind her and have been able to monitor with cameras and phone calls while we were at work. Our goal has always been to keep mom in her home where she feels most comfortable and safe.
Now her lack of strength coupled with her progressed dementia has changed all that. Sadly with her dementia, she does not realize the state of her health.
Thankfully, I have been able to take a leave of absence from work to care for her. Unfortunately, the leave is unpaid. Many do not have the opportunity to care for an elderly parent. It is both a challenge and a blessing. God promises to meet our needs. Please keep us in your prayers.
