Honeymoon trip to Tavros, Greece †
For the past few weeks, we have been putting our heads together to try and figure out how we could surmise the funds to make our dream trip to Greece for our honeymoon a possibility, and although both of us do not have that much money, we are both heavily determined to make this trip work.
Why do we want to go to Greece?
Originally, when we opened up the conversation about ideas for places we could possibly go, we realized that we were both feeling a calling to go to Greece. We both immediately agreed that Greece was the place we wanted to go from the start. Which, is a pretty big deal because usually for decisions as big as this it’d be hard for us to equally agree on anything without spending so much time making a case for what each of us want. That being said, we know that God is in the midst of all this and we believe that he has placed this calling on both of our hearts for a specific purpose. The fact that we both had it laid on our hearts that Greece would be our special destination for our honeymoon has confirmed this for us, and has also made us more than excited to see what God has in store for us. That’s why our motivation and our ambition to make this trip happen has skyrocketed.
As an added bonus to our excitement, neither of us have ever left the country before and this will be our first trip out of the country! That combined with it being a trip to Greece AND going right after our wedding is mind-blowing. This is why it’s the #1 thing we want to ask for help with, to really make this happen. We are excited to see what another country feels like, to be able to feel totally on our own, buying groceries together, having a little home together, we’re also thinking about all the adventures were going to have together (: and excited to see all of the old world architecture and biblical history that has taken place in that beautiful country. More than any of that, though, we are most excited because we don’t know what is to come while were there, and God both placing it on our hearts to travel there for our honeymoon, two days after being made into one, in marriage, has made us very excited to see what he has planned for us.
Information on our trip and what we need ♥
We will be going to Tavros, Greece and plan to be there from August 26th to September 13th. Thankfully, God has already blessed us immensely with the means to book our stay in a beautiful airbnb apartment in SE Tavros, Greece. Originally, why we decided to make this go fund me account is we needed the means to afford our plane tickets to get there, but after calculating how much it’s going to cost to live there for three weeks, we are also going to need a lot of help with living costs.
Quick breakdown of what’s going on and where we need help
The average price for one ticket to Greece was about $1,800 not including fees, and altogether it would have been about $4,000 dollars for the round trip for the both of us. Thankfully, we were able to find tickets for our round trip for a much cheaper price, and at the time, we deemed it our biggest priority to attain these tickets before they were gone because they were selling out quick, and we had already booked our stay. So, in order to get them we sold our broken down car, took two separate loans out, used the second half of our airbnb payment, and even pulled out some of the money that was reserved for the wedding. These tickets were the best deal we could possibly find, but still very expensive, about $2,900.
This is the most important area where we are asking for help.
We need to replace a lot of what we spent, and if possible we would appreciate immensely any help to pay off some of the loans we took out. Please keep in mind that any donation will help, even the smallest amount would be the biggest blessing to us.
Regarding the money used for the plane tickets this is where we are needing help ♥
- The priority is the second airbnb payment that will be due on August 11th (this is $588)
- Also, we pulled from our wedding fund, money that was supposed to be for our wedding cake and flowers (this is about $500 in total)
- Lastly, we took $1,700 out in loans but we are only going to ask for a head-start on paying them back ($850)
Living Costs and having fun on our honeymoon (short and sweet)
In regards to living costs, we have been crunching numbers looking at how much it costs to live in Greece, and have decided we don't want to just scrape by, but be able to enjoy our honeymoon to the fullest, going sightseeing, going on dates, adventures, eating out at restaurants etc (: Altogether we calculated that we will need about $2,500 to stay on the safe side while we are there for those three weeks, and this will be going to groceries, eating out, transportation, activities, and whatever long adventures might come our way (:

We understand that this trip is going to cost a lot of money, but we are very determined to do what we know God is calling us to. We trust that we’ll receive the help we’re needing, even in the smallest ways. We want everyone to know that everything helps.
