After a very difficult struggle with depression, Byron Leininger took his own life, leaving behind his wife, Holly, and their two beautiful daughters.

Although we cannot answer the question of "why" Byron dealt with depression, nor why he ended the battle all too soon, we can understand the battle that now lays ahead for Holly and their two daughters.   Byron's life insurance policy did not cover death by suicide.

As we reflect on what happens next, Byron's family has decided that Holly and their children will not be left to struggle on their own.  As we reference I Timothy 5:8,  (But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever) and accept our responsibility, a plan has been put into motion to secure a home for Holly, Leatyn, and little Emberlyn.

First, the provision of land by Nate and Jennifer (Leininger) Wortz has provided us with a location. All zoning and governmental obstacles have been cleared and many hands have volunteered to begin building  a small, but functional, home for this young family.  This house will be attached to a garage that the Wortz's are personally paying for.  The garage will attach to the Wortz's current home and Holly's new home.  This provided the "attachment" needed  for zoning to approve building an additional residence on the property.

Next, we seek YOUR help in raising the necessary funds to complete the house project. With the volunteer manpower, we are seeking $85,000 to cover the costs of building materials and skilled labor that we will need to hire.  As of July 2018 we have raised $55,000 in donations given here and given directly to Holly.  That leaves a remaining $30,000 to raise.  Costs of materials have risen dramatically since we started this project so this is a pretty solid estimate but we also can't predict price increases.  We are hoping and praying to have Holly and the girls moved in by Christmas of 2018.

Finally, thank you for the love and support you have already provided for Holly, her daughters, and the entire family. May God Bless you and yours! Concrete was poured in the Holly's house yesterday! Now we can finish siding/windows and doors and start framing on the inside. To continue to progress we need continued financial and labor support. Please contact us for ways you could be involved or make a donation here!

We would also ask for your continued prayers for the labor and financial support we need to finish the inside of the house. We still need to raise around $30-$40,000. to cover everything in the house.

If you are a part of a church or service organization that would like to volunteer or contribute financially we would be glad to share our financial statements with you and discuss further the needs and the vision behind this project. It's really quite simple, James 1:27 Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress. We are also working to start a nonprofit and expand to helping other widows and children in need. Please feel free to contact us at ahomeforholly@gmail.com for any questions or information you'd like to share.

Good afternoon! I apologize for not getting an update out to our donors! Great things are happening on top of the GFM page. We have received over $45,000 in private donations!

Also, in regards to this page, GFM is requiring that we provide information related to the disbursement of the funds that we have collected. Some of these are a bit silly if you know our family. So here is a direct response to the requirements...

1. How you are related to your beneficiary: Holly is the wife of Byron, my first cousin on my mom's side. So in that sense, Holly is my cousin and sibling of the Gary/Bonnie clan. If you know the Markel family or the Leininger Family, you know that we're close. We all grew up in close proximity and we all were raised with similar values and goals. Family being the highest value, after our faith.

2) That you are withdrawing the funds in your name: This is only technically true. Nate and Jenifer set up an account that we are depositing the funds into. The names on the account are Nate Wortz, Brandon Strong, and Nick Ladd. This will assist with accountability and the move forward as we move into the building phase.

3) How exactly you will be delivering the funds to your beneficiary or using the money on their behalf: Funds from the account will be used directly to pay for the building project and the actual materials we purchase. Jennifer will oversee much of this and I am happy to provide any information a donor, or prospective donor would need regarding our financial use of these funds!

Thank you again for your donation! We are hoping to make an announcement on a groundbreaking, but we are still in need of additional funds as we are now in need of installing a new septic field and well. All other concerns for this project have progressed with a positive result, including the BUILDING PERMIT!
