My name is Carmen Metcalfe. I live in Vidor, Texas.
My mother, Mary Smith, lost her home and everything she owns to flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. Mom is a widow who lives in the small town of Vidor, Texas. Vidor is east of Beaumont, which is about 90 miles east of Houston.
Water was over six feet in her home and she didn't even live in a flood zone. All of her belongings are gone. She can not even get to her home to salvage anything because two bridges have been washed away on the roads that go to her house.
My mom is safe but losing her home at 73 is devastating.
We do not know what will be covered by insurance right now. She will be out of her home for quite awhile and there will undoubtedly be quite a lot of expense ahead. All money raised will be used to rebuild.
Anything you can send will be appreciated and if you can't send anything, please, please pray for her.
