Home Going of Victorine Mbah

Victorine Mbah (30 years old) was a lone child born on May 10th, 1987 in Cameroon. Victorine attended Our Lady of Lourdes College Mankon and Presbyterian Secondary School Nkwen. Upon completion of high school, Victorine attended St. Louis University Institute of Health and Biomedical Sciences in Bamenda, Cameroon. A few years into her studies, Victorine won the American Diversity Visa lottery and immigrated to the USA, more specifically Maryland, in September of 2009 to further her dreams of becoming a registered nurse.

About five years ago, her dream of becoming a registered nurse was put on hold due to her health. She was diagnosed with a condition called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. This is a lung disease that leads to progressive scarring of the lungs, ultimately interfering with a person’s ability to breathe. She battled this disease for years and it worsened to the point that she had to walk around with an oxygen tank due to the inability of her body to provide enough oxygen on its own. Despite her condition, Victorine showed that she was a true fighter and not once did she ever consider giving up despite being practically stuck indoors due to increasing oxygen requirements that could no longer be supplied by a portable oxygen tank.

Her battle with the disease ended on Sunday, November 5th, 2017 at Doctor’s Community Hospital in Lanham, Maryland. She fought hard but her body could no longer withstand the trauma. Victorine was the only child to her parents and is survived by her mother, Gladys Ngweseh Afoambeh, and her father, Papa David Teemachop who are located in Cameroon. Anybody who knows Victorine can testify that she was very jovial, caring and full of life. You could not spend a minute around her without putting on a smile. It is unfortunate that her life had to be ended so soon. Her parents back home are subsistent farmers. Their utmost wish is to see the remains of their daughter to believe that she has truly transitioned to Rest In Peace.

The family strongly appeals to sympathizers to support financially in any way possible to help send Victorine’s corpse back to her parents in Cameroon. Thank you so much in advance for your support. Anything helps.
