Mom & Dad Need Accessible Home    

Our dad has a spinal cord injury and hasn't been able to work because his disability is causing nasty wounds. He and our mom rely on low-income and he has to use a power wheelchair. Our mom takes care of him but things have been hard on them because their apartment isn't accessible for him. Plus our mom is disabled due to COPD and stress-related disability. They desperately need an accessible house to live in. With renting, it's a huge struggle for them both financially and heath-wise.  We are asking your help to raise $10,000 down payment for them for a small house. Once they're in a small, modest house they qualify for funding to make the home accessible, and funding agencies say the home will be lower in cost than renting. They are trying to find a house they can purchase within their fixed-income/budget so they can have it modified for their disability. It's the same ole story...the gov will help pay for modifications if they had a home, but will not purchase the home. Our Popa Ron is loved by us, our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and we sincerely ask for your help.

Hardship

Mom and dad have given so much to help his us, his children, framily, and a life-time helping other people. Dad has spinal cord injuries and requires a power wheelchair to get around. He has had over 100 surgeries, preventing him from working and mom suffers with chronic- COPD and muscle weakness . Mom takes care of him but he still has the most God-awful, incredibly painful sores reaching deep to his bones.
They currently rent an apartment, which takes  most of their fixed income and limits dad in his power wheel chair.

The Goal
Mom and dad have exhausted all the possible government and private programs but they all say they cannot help.  Dad has spoken to lending agencies which will provide a mortgage with-in their budget but they all require a $10,000 down payment. 

The Payoff
$10,000 will make purchasing a home possible. 

Personal Message
 Mom and dad aren't asking for anyone to give them an accessible home. They are giving all the income they have to  make a home purchase. They just need your help in meeting the down payment. Dad worked in hospitals, rehab units, and ER's counseling newly injured patients and finding support for their families. He and mom have given to their communities and neighbors, helping them in times of need. Please help us meet this  goal so these two dear people can have a home that is accessible and help them both.
