We Love Eric Johnson

For the past several years, our dear Eric has been dealing with a liver condition that was difficult to diagnose.  Things came to a head in early December, when due to a compromised immune system, Eric was admitted to the hospital with sepsis.  He spent over eight weeks going back and forth between the hospital and a rehab center, before having to return to the emergency room because the liver disease had progressed and become critical.  He has had a chorus of doctors and specialists helping him, including infectious disease doctors, hematologists,  a critical care specialist, and a G.I. specialist, all trying to combat what was a very sick man.

In early February, the medical team at the hospital decided it would  be better for him to go to a facility where he could receive acute care.  He is now at a wonderful facility, Calvary Hospital, in the Bronx.  He has made the decision he wants to work very hard to recover, but the road to recovery is very long.

Eric has been unable to work for months now, yet his financial responsibilities don't stop.  His medical bills are piling up, as well as day-to-day bills and the cumulative costs of transporting his close caregivers back and forth to the Bronx.  We'd like to invite you all, friends and loved ones of Eric Johnson, if you're looking for a way to help, this is it.

Update:  Dezur Kenna, Eric's long-time friend and healthy proxy, will be withdrawing all funds on behalf of Eric and ensuring they are used for the payment of his hospital bills.
