Hit and run driver ran over my wife
7 months ago I married a beautiful woman, between us we have 4 kids including the 18 month old we have together. We have both worked in the hospitality industry nearly our entire adult lives. Early Saturday morning as my wife was walking to her car after work at 1:30am, she was crossing The street (in a crosswalk AND with the walk sign) when a dark SUV took the corner at speed and struck her, shattering her lower left leg and causing several other bumps and scrapes. The driver slowed almost to a stop before accelerating off. We've been at UC Davis trauma center since Saturday morning. She's had one procedure to stabilize her leg and will need more before going home. After that it'll be 12 weeks on crutches. After that will be physical therapy. There's a long road to recovery ahead of us.
All this happened the day before her birthday. Happy birthday.
Oh yeah... Our house, the house where we raise Our children and keep all our stuff, well it was placed under mandatory evacuation due to flood concerns stemming from the situation at the Oroville Dam.
