Historic Upshur Museum - Gilmer, TX

Built in 1925, this historic brick and mortar building served as a Post Office and in 1993 became the Historic Upshur Museum. The Museum staff, Volunteers and Board of Directors, have worked diligently to preserve Upshur County history, provide educational programs and exhibits to the public.
As with all things, preservation comes with a cost. We are a non profit (501)c3 corporation and depend on our fundraisers, memberships, and donations to continue to serve as a resource to the citizens of Upshur County and beyond. In March of 2007 our 24 year-old roof began to leak . Throughout the years some repairs were made and continue to be made as necessary.
Although the roof repair work is sufficient, damage done to the interior caused by water leaks is in need of repairs. Presently, we are facing major expenses with the repairs to the roof and interior of the building due to water damage. These expensed go far beyond our ability to fund at our current operating budget. We need your help.
We hope and respectfully request you will consider a generous tax-deductible donation towards the much-needed repairs to this building. We thank you in advance for your support to the Historic Upshur Museum.
