Basic History - In 2008 we started a Myspace page. Our mission? To unbiasedly highlight and honor Rockford area bands and music artists from all eras and genres. The page contained not only photos, audio and video but interviews as well. Some of the Rockford area artists that were featured dated all the way back to the big band era of the 20’s and 30’s.
Mission accomplished - The page became a big hit and eventually moved to Facebook in 2010 to build an even bigger audience but something happened. The page morphed into a site not only about Rockford bands but a page encompassing everything about Rockford including history, pop culture and simple Americana. This page is called Rockford Rocked and as of this moment has gained well over 14,500 “likes”!
New Mission – We feel that we can take the Rockford music idea to the next level by creating a unbiased book highlighting THE BANDS, THE MUSICIANS, THE VENUES, THE MUSIC, THE STORIES and most importantly THE HISTORY of Rockford area music! (The book will be available to order online)
We are starting out with a modest goal of 1000.00 to cover the cost of printing. Thank you!
