Sweenie Family Foundation

For those of you who don't know, Kevin Sweenie has been battling hard and strong for 2 years against cancer. In mid 2012 Kevin was diagnosed with a cancerous lung tumour. Luckily he found it in time for surgery and after removing his lower left lung lobe he was able to return home for Christmas, which was the greatest gift we could recieve. He was happy and healthy and home until this June when he went to the doctor about a lump that arose on his chest. Tests came back and it was a very agressive form of cancer. After a hard run of chemo with a very sick and fraile Kevin, we saw no improvement with the chest tumour and another 3 tumours had developed on his trachea. As we moved into five days of radiation we found there was slight shrinkage in the chest tumour. Our hopes were quite high of him beating another hard battle, until Kevin went to the hospital for extreme headaches just to get a scan showing 13 brain tumours and two tumours in the groin. By Halloween his illness, seizures, and pain was too much and he was admitted to the hospital as an inpatient. The doctors gave him until the end of November, with one saying "he will not win this battle". Kevin is a strong man, a skydiver, a friend, a confidant, a husband, a brother, a hard worker, an uncle, and a loving father. Unfortunately he is also the income for the family, and with him unable to work and about to pass we have found ourselves struggling quite a bit both emotionally and finacially. It took alot for our family to ask for help, as we are a very personal and independant family but we need help. Please help us get back on our feet so we can send him off knowing we will be okay and supported. We are asking for a hand-up, not a hand-out.
