Hello! Let me introduce myself, my name is Andy Divers and I represent Hexham Spinal Unit Sports Club. We are a registered charity. The club was founded around 1981. The premises we use are purpose built for wheelchair users and sports and leisure activities.
We are a small disabled friendly sports orientated club, We are based in the centre of Hexham and mainly cater for wheelchair users. Club members attend from far and wide throughout the North East and one lives in Cumbria.
We are trying to raise money to help keep our club in existence, we have tried many different ways to get funding but it is proving more difficult each year. We also desperately need to renew old and out of date equipment.
Currently we have just enough money for the rent for the first half of 2017.
Keeping our club going means everything to our members, it is a fun, friendly and happy place to meet and socialise each week, I personally have been attending since 1991 rarely missing a session.
Our members and myself will be immensely grateful for any money raised to keep us in existence.
New Members needed. We meet every Friday between the hours of 2pm and 6pm.
