Tragen was born with grade two bilateral microtia.

He had a medpore reconstruction done at chop last September and had a 3 month recovery missing the beginning months of kindergarten. He started to reject his implant and his medpor is now exposed. He is at great risk of infection and losing his ear along with his hearing. He has a chance to have this repaired with a specialist in Los Angeles but it is not covered by insurance because of it being out of state. His parents are going to front the cost of surgery but they also have three other children at home to care for. His mom, Stephanie, will be out in California with him for a month for surgery and recovery and dad will be home with the three girls and need to work. They need help both at home and out in California to make sure all are taken care of. Anything you can do either monetary donations or dinners or help at home would be a great relief. They will be flying out on October 30 2018, surgery to be on November 2. Tragen will have a post op appointment on November 7th and again on the 14th, hopefully discharged on the 14th with the possibility on having to fly back for follow up appointments.
The family would also like you to know that any money that is raised but they are blessed not to need will be donated to the Ronald McDonald house and the Hears without ears foundation. They also promise to donate to both charities in the following years.
