We’ve been invited to compete for Canada in Paris, France!
But that’s a long way from here, it’s happening soon, and we need your help in getting there.
Our Story
My name is Lee Cenaiko; I’m co-owner of ZebedeezHair in Olds, Alberta with my husband Ray.
I’ve enjoyed the thrill of competing at the provincial, national and international level as a professional hair stylist, being tested against other highly skilled professionals in my field. The competition is fierce at these events. Sometimes I‘m on the podium, sometimes I’m not — but I always learn something that pushes me to do better next time.
Trinity and Me
My daughter Trinity is my model at our competitions; I think you can tell us apart in our photos. (Hint: she’s the elegant, beautiful one.) Trinity’s poise and confidence amaze me. I’m grateful for the wonderful mother and daughter experience we share when we’re competing as a team.
Here’s another photo of Trinity taken during this year’s ABA Bridal Long Hair Competition in Toronto.
Going Up Against the Best of the Best
Our time in Toronto was so rewarding — especially when we were invited afterwards to compete as members of the Canadian Cosmetology Team for the 2018 HAIRWORLD OMC World Cup coming up this September in Paris.
To give you an idea of the size of this event, and the level of competition, watch this video from last year’s HAIRWORLD OMC World Cup in Paris: https://youtu.be/_IoIJPRE0XU
And here’s a picture of the CCT team that’s flying 7,000 kilometres and crossing an ocean to compete for Canada in Europe this year. That’s me in the middle!
Competing in Paris has been a lifelong ambition for me, and now Trinity and I have the chance to go.
PLUS, we’ll be the lone Canadian entry in the Prestige Technical Bridal 30-minute Time Limit Event and the Prestige Gala Event. We’ll be judged for creativity and technical skill against competitors from 5 continents, with the winners being named World Champions.
No pressure!
It’s going to take a ton of work to get ready to compete for Canada in Paris.
That’s no problem: the hours and hours and hours of practice practice practice, creating different styles, working out every move, searching out a wardrobe, fine-tuning makeup and nails, making mental preparation for that day you’re competing under the lights in Paris — Paris! — for real while the unforgiving clock is ticking down and the judges and spectators watch absolutely everything you do as you fight to stay centered and composed.
Trinity and I are confident we can overcome all of THESE challenges together, but there IS something we can’t do on our own.
Something we need to ask your help with.
We've already paid a lot of the cost of the trip ourselves, but the total costs are much more than we can cover on our own:
● $3600 Airline Tickets
● $1600 Hotel and Meals
● $1200 Fees
● $2500 Wardrobe
● $ 400 Makeup and Nails
● $ 500 EU-compliant Styling Tools
$9700 Total Cost CAD
(-$4500) Amount we have already paid ourselves towards costs
$5200 Amount remaining, that we are fundraising
Help Us Win Paris for Canada!
The 2018 OMC HAIRWORLD World Cup in September is an invitation-only competition to decide the World Champions in our profession.
Will you help us with our costs so that we can win Paris for Canada this year?
And, after making your own donation, would you help us even further by getting the word out to people you know by sharing our GoFundMe link to your Facebook Timeline?
We would be truly grateful.
