Help Townsville Flood Affected Family

Could you imagine losing everything you own? All your furniture, electrical items, clothes, photos, sentimental jewellery - everything!
No longer having a place to sleep?
Imagine that the only belongings you had were those that fit in the garbage bag you filled before you had to be evacuated by boat from your house.
This is exactly what happened to my Grandma, Aunty, Uncle and Children in Townsville, Qld, Australia.
Without any prior warning they woke up to water lapping at their front door. They were some of the first people affected by the floods and needing evacuation.
My grandma is in her eighties and only lost her husband of 50+ plus years 4 short years ago. She is now tasked with the job of restarting her life again. A new place to live, new car(was not covered for flood) and replacing everything she once owned.
My Aunty, Uncle and children are also in in need with them finding out they were not covered with insurance on their unit the morning of the flood. They now have to try replace everything as well as rebuild their unit.
It's indescribable the stress and emotional strain that come with this so we have started this page to try ease the financial burden.
This money will immediately go towards temporary accomodation costs for all 5 family members affected and clothing and footwear. Also helping my grandma find a new permanent place to live and taxi vouchers to get to medical appointments and grocery shopping until a car can be sourced and purchased.
Once the floodwaters have receded this money will be used for the clean up and repairs to the unit and a car for our grandma.

NB: In the event we have excess funds to our requirements we will forward these on in the way of a donation to any other families in need that were affected by these floods.
