Taela (Blue Heeler) Hit By Car

On Monday, January 23 at about 11:21am, a parcel carrier hit our family dog, Taela (blue heeler). She dislocated both hips. She needs surgery on each. One needs to be pinned and the ligament rebuilt. The other needs to have the ball of the joint removed completely.

Anyone who has met her knows she is one of the most friendly and loving dogs ever (unless you are a squirrel).  She and I have been inseperable ever since she was a puppy.  She is so excited to meet anyone who comes to the house that when the invisable fence went down (moles chewed the line) she ran out to meet the parcel carrier.  

Nap Time

The cost is for the two hip surgeries is about $1700 for one hip (they will remove the ball at the top of the femur) and $3000 for the other (they will drill through the hip and ball and attach with a cable to replace the torn ligament) plus, $500 for the ER and another $500 for misc vet charges - for a total of up to $6000

Any help is appreciated. We dont have kids so she is it!

Anything over and above her medical expenses will be donated to the Kansas Humane Society .

We will post updates and pictures and copies of receipts so that everyone knows this is on the up-and-up.
