Support for Lon Raposas

On July 27, 2018, my dad, Lon Raposas (44 years old) was rushed into the ER from major swelling in chest, arm and hallucinations. Before all this, he was sick with having fever and coughing and barely eating or drinking anything.

Two days before this is when it hit him the most and got worse at. We figured he may just have a centipede bite the last days but we were wrong. Right away, they took him in and had to do surgery to his left forearm. They cut into his forearm to relieve the pressure from his arm. All the pressure also caused the forearm to get clogged and not have any blood flow going down to his hands and fingers. This virus did so much damage and caused him to have dead tissue, muscle and barely feel a pulse. The surgery went well, and after doing surgery, they could not determine what exactly has caused this. They were clueless. All they knew was that they had to pump him up with a bunch of medications ASAP to quickly fight whatever he had.  But thankfully, his arm is getting better but the doctors are not too sure about it yet.

The first thing  they thought he could have had was flesh eating bacteria, which is a really rare bacteria that occurs when bacteria enter the body through a break in the skin, then they also thought he could have menengitus which causes hallucinations and is also contagious. The doctors have given him so much different kinds of medications for different viruses to rule out each of the so they can figure out what he exactly as. Because of the virus and bacteria in his arm, it traveled up to his chest, causing him to have hard time breathing and talking. This bacteria travels so quick and everything happened so fast that the bacteria was now in his bloodstream and traveled to his organs. His kidney and liver weren’t working fully and was on the verge of not making it. Right now, he had to get rushed to Honolulu to be on dialysis, so it pretty much his way of breathing and living is through this machine. He is in medical coma and is being woken up slowly but not fully functional. He is so sick that the doctors said he’s the most sickest person on Oahu even for him being so young and healthy.

We never expected the most hardest worker, loving friend and father and most coolest and kindest person out there to be in this very tough situation where his life is on the line. We’re just asking for thoughts and prayers to help him get through this and fight what he has going on in his body.  All donations will be to pay for medical expenses and expenses for his family to fly back and forth from Kaua’i to Oahu to make sure someone is by his side, and for his younger kids: Chasen Raposas (12), Kainnan Raposas (4)

Chasen Kalawai’a William Raposas (12 years old)

Kainnan Po’omaikai Raposas (4 years old)

Any donation is a gift and blessing to help him fight through this and get better in time. Thank you for any support you may offer. Every bit will help
