Help Phantom's tummy troubles

Hi everyone! Our happy-go-lucky boy Phantom is sick with an illness that hasn't been determined yet, and it's been a scary month.

We immediately rushed him to an emergency vet after coming home to a bloody mess of vomit. Upon examination they couldn't find a cause, so we were sent home with anti-nausea and stool firming medication.

He vomited more the following morning, so back to the vet we went. He was prescribed more medication and we did a stool sample, which came back normal.

A couple days later, the vomiting stopped, but there was blood in his stool. Back to the vet we went, this time for x-rays. They didn't find anything, so we were prescribed a special diet.

Once he finished his medication, he began vomiting blood again. This time, we did blood work. The results came back normal, so Phantom was prescribed more medication.

And this morning, we were back at the vet due to more (blood-free) vomiting. We had a second round of x-rays, and it seems that there might be something there. The vet wasn't sure so we're getting more x-rays done tomorrow morning.

After all of this we are drained, both financially and mentally. Each visit ended up being $500-$600 each and there might be many more. After the x-rays tomorrow we might have to follow up with an ultrasound, more blood work, possibly a scope, and maybe even surgery. We did get pet insurance for future emergencies, but it doesn't cover pre-existing conditions.
