Paul's Stolen Photo Equipment

The support and well wishes I have received have been overwhelming.

My name is Paul Hillier, I make my living as a photographer and I love it! I love every wedding couple's day I capture for them to remember forever. I love every cosplayer whose vision I get to turn into a cinematic portrait. The people I meet and the stories I get to tell and the fact that I get to pay my rent by doing it is amazing.

But last week while photographing a cosplayer around Dundas Square late at night, my backpack filled with a lot of my gear was stolen. I should have known better, I put my bag down to get a lower angle shot thinking that with the cosplayer and friends there we'd have enough eyes and that my bag was safe: I was wrong. In less then a minute, it was gone.

In the bag was my ultra-wide Nikon lens, Sigma prime lens, memory cards, camera batteries, a shotgun mic, wallet cash and IDs, as well as the bag itself.  The funds raised will go directly to replacing what I have lost.

I was very hesitant to start a gofundme. I consider myself an incredibly lucky person to have the amazing friends that I do and I don't like the idea of accepting help for nothing in return. So please consider this a make work project to help me fund the replacement of my equipment.  In return, I have an assortment of prints and photo sessions available as rewards for helping me continue doing what I love.
