Help Mr. St. Clair: Flood Relief

Longtime and beloved Community Day School Middle School math teacher Lin St. Clair needs your help!
On the evening of Wednesday, June 20, he heard a knock on the door of his Bridgeville home during a severe rain storm around 8 p.m. from a neighbor telling him to move his car because flood waters were rising rapidly on their street. It was too late. The water was almost 2 feet high already from the flash flood. Soon, everything was lost on his first floor, where the water reached depths of nearly 5 feet, even climbing several steps toward his second floor. In addition to his car, he lost his washer and dryer. His Hot water heater. Furnace. Refrigerator. Stove. TV. Record player. His record collection. Dozens and dozens of treasured books. A basement full of tools. The pressure of the flood water was strong enough to lift off cabinet tops in his kitchen and topple over and destroy a china cupboard.

Thankfully and most importantly, Lin is safe and sound. But he is facing a long and difficult road ahead without the benefit of flood insurance to restore his home so it is once again habitable and replace his lost possessions.
For so many years, Mr. St. Clair gave back to our children, his CDS family, and our community. Now, in his hour of need, please consider making a donation to help him find his way through this disaster.
