Help Marvellous and Honour



My name is Palingu and I need your help in raising money to give two incredible young children a chance at receiving a better education! 
 
Some of you already know I recently joined the team at a charity initiative called OIA Gives. We are a relatively new Charity initiative and we have limited resources, so we try to maximise efforts with paying for school fees, uniform, books and providing care packages where we can to less than fortunate children in Africa. 
 
When I joined, I wanted to contribute to the cause and help make a difference, one child at a time. Little did I know how much of an impact I can personally make to a child's life. This experience with “OIA Gives” has been the most rewarding, especially when I get to see the precious smiles on some of the children's faces.  
 
The story of Honour And Marvellous  


Honour Anyim is an energetic 11 year old, who loves playing football. He has a tough time at home, as his father is unemployed and his mother is a Petty Trader. Since things are very hard at home, he loves being at school and spending time with his friends. 
 
Also, Marvellous Ogadu is a very smart and outgoing at 11 years old. Along with her three siblings, she is raised by her single mother, who is a Tailor. As of now, she is in a school but fees are yet to be paid.  She hopes to become an accountant one day and we want to make sure she has the proper education for that! 
 
As you can read their stories, these two enthusiastic children come from very poor economic backgrounds. We strongly believe that every child deserves the right to quality education and that with better education, the cycle of poverty CAN and WILL be broken. 
 
This is where I need you to help - Honour & Marvellous are currently studying in a school that lack basic infrastructure. We want to transfer the both of them to a school that can provide them with quality education and help empower them along the way. However, this means that there will be additional costs in relocating them.  
 
Now, although I can demonstrate with pictures the state of the schools in terms of structures and infrastructure which is definitely not up to par. It is not my intent to criticize as without these schools, both children would be on the streets hawking or in more dire conditions, at least this way they get to be with their friends, laugh and play football and be SAFE for 8hrs in the day.  
 
But in order to set them up for a world that is so fierce, this might not suffice, in terms of getting their education to a standard that they can be competitive and pass the national exams in Nigeria, JAMB & WASCE which enables the next step for a university degree.  
 
Both children live in  Okhunmwun, Edo state, Nigeria. The closest landmark being Ekiadolor.
