Luke’s Surgeries

Donation protected
My name is Traci, and I have a Golden Retriever puppy named Luke as a best friend. He is now 11 months old and the most precious thing in my life. A few months ago, he had an infection in his eyes. I took him to the vet and they prescribed eye lubrications, antibiotic ointment, eye drops, and anti-inflammatory pain relief pills for him. They informed me that he has a severe case of a genetic condition called Entropion in both eyes. Entropion is a disorder in which a pet’s eyelid is inverted, meaning it rolls or folds inward toward the eyeball. This can cause eyelashes, hair, or other debris to rub against the surface of the eye, which can be irritating and painful, and can potentially result in ulceration or perforation of the cornea, infection, and even loss of vision. The general Vet in Florida advised that he needs surgery immediately and that his case will cause permanent damage if left untreated. The thought of my sweet boy being in pain every day, or unable to see is so heartbreaking for me.

April 2019 Update: Luke has had two surgeries so far that have improved his condition, but not fully resolved. He now has a corneal ulcer on his right eye and he needs a third and final surgery. This 3rd surgery is almost 3 grand by itself, so we haven’t been able to schedule it yet. Thank you for any help you might be able to provide, and/or sharing of our story. ♥️
