Help Lisa Mobley LA Flood Victim
My friend, friend to many, and dedicated Yaller (Craig Wayne Boyd fan), Lisa Mobley is in need of some help! If you haven’t heard, Areas of Louisiana have been flooded beyond belief overnight. On Friday, 8/11/16 Lisa heard the flooding was happening in her area and tried to escape her neighborhood. But when she got to the cross street that would get her to the interstate she had to turn back because the water was already too high to drive through. She returned home still pretty confident that although the water was rising near her apartent... she was sure the water wouldn’t reach her patio doors to her first level apartment in Denham Springs, Louisiana. However confident, she still welcomed some sandbags from a neighbor... just in case. When she woke up the next morning, there was water in her apartment & it was rising at a rate of 2 feet every 20 minutes. She grabbed what she could and took shelter in an upstairs neighbors apartment to escape the rising water where she is currently being held captive by the rising water with no power and no way to escape.
To make matters worse, they are doing mandatory evacuations to most of the surrounding neighborhoods. But those areas that are being serviced right now still have power and are not in as bad a shape as her area which… as you can see in the photo… is past her car and now up to her bedroom window.
Many of you know Lisa as one of the Facebook Craig Wayne Boyd Army & Team Craig Wayne Boyd administrators. She handles about 8 Facebook & 4 Twitter accounts to promote and help the Yaller cause. She's travled to 8 states from Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, Arizona, Nevada & California to see shows, has helped with the last 2 CWB fan club parties and has donated several times to other causes that people in the #Yaller community has asked for. Lisa is one of us... she's single, in her 40's. She lives miles away from family and works at a blood donation center. She spends her life dedicated to helping others... now.... it's time for us to give back to her and tell her how much we appreciate what she does.
I'm not asking that you empty your bank accounts. Every little bit helps.. $5, $10, $100. Ask yourself if there is something you might be able to go without this month. If the answer is yes… from going to a movie or even a week’s worth of coffee at Starbucks. These are things she wont be able to enjoy for a while because although she has renters insurance, the apartment complex she lives in TOLD HER NOT TO GET FLOOD INSURANCE BECAUSE THEY WERENT LOCATED IN A FLOOD PLAIN!! Now… NOTHING in her apartment will be covered... she's lost EVERYTHING. We are unsure if her car will be salvageable as well and with no place to live & no transportation, she will likely lose her job. I WILL REITERATE… she TRIED to leave when the flood warnings went out but by then it was too late.
Keep in mind that this could have happened to ANY of us. At any moment we can be struck with tragedy. Tornados, flooding, earthquakes… all of these things happen all over the country with little to no warning and even with warning, sometimes not enough… like in Lisa’s case. This is something we can’t control. The only thing we CAN control is what we do as a human being to lend a hand to someone that we consider our #Yaller Family! Please give what you can... Even if it’s just for some old fashioned good karma... let’s face it, we could all use some of that!
