This campaign is to help support Lexie Murphy and her mother Sheri Murphy. Lexie has recently been diagnosed with cancer in her abdomen (Burkitt's Lymphoma) after being ill for the past 9 months and going to the doctors over and over again until finally she was sent to a specialist (Gastroenterologist) that they finally starting doing tests and got the ball rolling. On Monday 4/17/17 she went for an MRI at Holy Spirit Hospital and from there she was sent to Danville where she has been hospitalized at Geisinger Medical Center Janet Weis Childrens Hospital ever since. It was then that they found a mass in her abdomen. They did a biopsy of the mass in her abdomen, They did a spinal tap and they also took bone marrow to do testing to see if it had further spread into her body. On 4/21/17, The Dr told them that the bone marrow and the spinal tap came back negative and by the grace of God it had not spread through her body and was indeed in the abdominal area only. They have already started Chemo, and they were told today that she will remain in the hospital until May 5th at least.
Lexie will not be able to return to school the rest of this year. Sheri has not been able to work during this time so that she can be by her daughters side. It will be some time before she can return to work.
Sheri has full access to this campaign, Donations and comments, She will be able to post all of the updates regarding Lexie, send thank you notes, etc....
