My name's Jeanine Kleist and I am a 22 year old diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma stage 2A. While it's curable (yay!) there are a lot of expenses and sacrifices I have to make to get over this. And while my parents are amazing and helping me out, I still want to try and raise some money to help with expenses.
I'll be going through ABVD chemo every other Thursday starting 8/30 for 5 hour treatments. I'll be going through 3 rounds (2 treatments each). Fingers crossed--if my PET scan comes back normal I can be cancer free by Thanksgiving!
Some of my expenses include:
Prescriptions (steroids and anti-nausea meds to start): ~$30
Biweekly therapy to stave off depression: $75/session
Traveling to New Jersey and back: A tank of gas is about $35 for me, and I'll usually need to fill it after each trip (every other week about).
Groceries (I'll be eating healthy to boost my immune system): ~$100/week
Wigs: Maybe one or two? Hoping for less than $50 a piece.
Make Up: I honestly don't know. I'll be losing all my hair--eyebrows and eyelashes, too. So I'd imagine a solid $30-$50 a month to look presentable.
