Helping the Klein family

Those of you reading this know someone in the Klein family... Peter, Tracy, Maddie, Gwen or Griffin.  Chances are they've helped you in some capacity over the years, as that's the kind of people they are.  Now we're asking you to consider helping them.  `

In August of 2018 our dear friend Peter Klein was diagnosed with a very rare form of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma called Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL). 

There is no cure for MCL at this point in time, just periods of remission. The hope of Peter’s Oncologist is that he can live a full life during those times.

It goes without saying, but in the last seven months, Peter has been through a lot!  Besides the toll this disease itself has taken on his body, he's had to deal with never-ending testing, dozens of needle sticks for bloodwork, and an unplanned inpatient stay during Christmas due to severe complications.

Peter has just completed six rounds of chemotherapy. Incredibly, he’s been working throughout his treatment, namely because he is the sole breadwinner in a family with added expenses of two children in college. Being in the mortgage business, if Peter isn’t working the money isn't coming in. 

The reason for this Go Fund Me appeal is that soon Peter will not be able to work. In a few short weeks he will be headed to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA to undergo an Autologous Stem Cell Transplant (SCT). Peter’s doctors believe that this very serious procedure will give him the best chance to remain in remission. But his body’s immune system will be taken down so low that its expected that he’ll barely be able to keep his head off the pillow.  It's unknown when Peter will be well enough to get back to work.

The Klein's also have the added expense of having to pay for lodging in the Boston area for the entire month that Peter will be undergoing this treatment protocol.
