Helping rescue dogs find their forever home

Tax deductible
For over a month now I have volunteered at Islay Dog Rescue in Cumnock. With the recent media coverage there has been hundreds of volunteers singing up to help. However, the rescue need finances to help continue support the dogs they save. Costs such as vet bills and the willingness to expand and help more dogs is unnatainable without your help.

On the 9th of June 2019 I will take part in Kilmarnocks local 10k, roon the toon and ask for your donation as a sponsorship for this. Yet, sponsoring someone for a 10k is not the most appealing, therefore I decided to add a twist. If the target of 2500 is reached before the run commences on the 9th of June I will partake in an a day as the life of a rescue dog. I will spend a full 24 hours in the kennel, only allowed out twice to stretch my legs and a toilet break (just like the dogs). I will get fed twice, not dog food though and won't have access to any luxuries such as mobile phone. I will look to video blog the whole event and will share my experience and feelings with you. I really hope to show the dogs state of mind when they don't have their own place to call home.

Islay dog rescue does amazing work for numerous dogs and this event is to show that even with the amazing work they do dogs deserve their forever home. You never know it could be your home.
