Little Liam Hansen, is a soon to be 5 yr old with alot energy and character.   Liam has a severe form of congenital kypho-scoliosis. He currently has a 91 degree curve in his spine. On September 28th Liam will be having his first rod placement surgery that includes a spinal fusion. This is to begin to correct his curve as currently it is begin to twist and cause discomfort. He will be in the hospital for 5-7 days and then will have a 3-4 month recovery. This little guy is tough though and he isn't let any of this slow him down.  His first major surgery occurred at 11 mo to fix a hole in his heart.  He also had a tether release surgery when he was 2 He has battled through casts, and braces.  He has never let anything stop him from just being a little boy.  He played his first year of hockey with Sauk Rapids Youth Hockey mini mites and baseball in Rice, Mn and looks forward to playing more after recovery. Donations will help  pay for his care.  Thank you.

His surgery is over. He is now resting in the ICU. pre surgery his curve was 98 degrees. post surgery it is at 40 degrees. He is heavily medicated for the pain and resting comfortably with Mom. The road to recovery starts now. Hopefully tomorrow he will be alert. In the following days he will get his brace and start to be more up and active.

Liam had his pre OP appointment this week. It sounds like the stay maybe longer than we are thinking. Jacey will go into more details on his caringbridge. There is alot of hope and prayers that everything will go smooth and he will have no complications.

When I set this up, I had no idea what to put for a goal. No idea of cost, or how long he he would be there. I have raised the goal, and now increased it because I think they maybe be gone longer. Thank you to all the current donors. please continue to share his story.

Thanks to all that have donated and/or shared the link. It's all greatly appreciated. Donations can be any amount and you can even donate anonymously. I was to young to understand when my dad was in the Hospital how much cost is involved. It is very stressful and costly to be away from your job and home for even a short amount of time. Words cannot Express how your help is eliminating some of this stress. Thank you.
