Helping Haillee Heal and Home

Donation protected

On Tuesday morning, 11/13/18, our daughter woke up in her small apartment because her beloved dog Becky was barking. Thinking someone must be knocking at the door, she walked in the den to see a large man inside her home.
For the next 2+ hours, the man blocked Haillee’s exit, phone, and computer. The attempts she made to get away were stopped by him dragging her back into her apartment, hitting her, choking her throat and more. His intent was to rape her and most likely kill her.
At some point, Haillee was able to crawl under her bed to try to get where his large size couldn’t. He flipped and broke her bed and bed frame. At this point, Haillee knew flight wasn’t an option, so she fought. She picked up one of the broken metal poles of her bed and started hitting him.
Sleeping neighbors woke and realized her car alarm (she somehow set it off for a few minutes) and heard her screaming.  They called the police.
Haillee was able to hold this brute off until the police got there, at which point the police chased him down and took him into custody.
I, Stacy her mom, was able to be there within 6 hours thanks to amazing family finding flights and more. I went with her to the police station (she had already been cleared by the hospital and had lunch thanks to her sweet boyfriend). The police have told us that Haillee does not need to return to the apartment to live. She has been a few times to grab things,  but short visits and never alone. She can’t live there anymore.
In the few days I have been down here, we have found her  much nicer residence (see attached photos) in a safe area with a security monitoring system already hooked up. This is what she needs.
Okay, here’s where she needs help. Moving cost a lot. She needs help to raise funds to get the deposit, pet deposit, first month and the prorated November rent. She also needs help getting utilities switched over and money to replace furniture and such ruined by this evil man. Finally, she needs funds for medical bills. While there weren’t any broken bones, she is sore beyond words and her neck, legs, and back are hurting horribly from wrestling and fighting him. Obviously she will also need counseling.
We are trying to help her, but as we still have 5 kids at home, we can’t cover everything she needs. So we are coming asking for help.
We know God gave her extra strength and courage through this. She fought. She fought hard and strong and bravely to stay alive. We are so proud of her.
Could you please help her as she tries to heal and start over? We know that many hands make light work.
Thank you so much for anything you can do.
Whether you can help monetarily or not, please pray. Please pray for her complete healing. Please also pray for the attacker. Pls pray that somewhere in the jail where he will serving for the 13 felonies (I think that’s the right number) he is charged with solely for what he did to Haillee, please pray he will find Jesus.

Thanks again, friends and family. And thanks for reading a long account.
