Helping Bridget fight cancer

Donation protected
Bridget Kirk is a 21 year old female that was recently diagnosed with Sarcoma cancer earlier this year after a few tests and biopsies were done on a troublesome tumor she had growing in her lower back. This tumor was embedded around her spinal cord and was proven to be problematic physically and health wise. This tumor went from the size of a ping pong ball to the size of a grapefruit in a matter of months. After finding out the severity of the condition when it came back malignant, her team of surgeons concluded surgery had to be done as soon as possible to extract the mass. Her life has been dramatically changed following this diagnosis. Earlier this June she had major lumbar surgery to extract the tumor (which came out at 10cm in diameter!) and had to sacrifice her I2 nerve due to the tumors invasive nature; which in turn caused her permanent weakness and numbness in regions of her body. Aside from the surgery she has to undergo aggressive radiotherapy and chemotherapy to combat the cancer before it invades other regions of her body, as well as many more cat scans in different regions of her body, after there was indication of a small nodule in her lung area. Its a long road of harsh treatments and tests after tests. Bridget shares a passion for the ocean, ocean life, travels and adventures. She has a drive to help others as well as animals (she loves rescuing dogs from shelters) and eventually wants to pursue a educational career in medicine. Before all this came about she worked as a medical assistant at a nearby clinic but due to all these preceding complications she had to take a lot of time off from the job while she recovers and gets treated. At 21 years old that sounds like drowning in medical debt.. So why are we here? We are here to ask for your help. We have went over a list of possible roads and avenues to take with this and some, while they are feasible, still lead to crippling debt for years ahead. To top it off her disability and SSI assistance is taking a very long time to arrive due to the four month waiting period it takes for her to medically qualify. So we turn to you, the person reading this. We need your help. Every donation helps us pave the road towards our goal, and our goal is to ultimately get Bridget through this rough patch in her early life and back to her everyday normal life. So while we don’t ask for anyone to rush we do ask for anything within your means as soon as you are able to so it can be one less thing Bridget has to worry about. Thank you for taking the time to read Bridget’s story and thank you for your donation should you  consider, every penny, dime, and dollar will greatly benefit her cause.
