My sister and her husband Damon are experiencing a very difficult time. Their 6 year old daughter Ava has been diagnosed with a very rare and serious disease called Pandas. Pandas affects the brain and neurological system Her condition is a medical emergency requiring attention immediately. The neurologist who specializes in Pandas is located in Washington DC and the treatment necessary is IVIG. It is a process of cleaning her blood and giving her new plasma with the hope of killing the virus affecting Ava's brain. Damon, Angela and Ava left for DC Oct 5th with lots of uncertainties. Angela had to quit her full time job to care for Ava. There are medical and travel expenses along with loss of work. This has been a great hardship for their family costing upwards of $20,000. They have asked for no help but I know there is a great need. After many people have expressed an interest I would like to set up the Go-Fund-Me account. My hope is that together we can lift some of this financial burden from them and let them know our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with them on their journey.
