Helping a gifted musician

Professional Musicians are proud people. The more gifted they are, the prouder they can be. Along with that innate sense of pride, there can be a stubborn unwillingness to ask for help when they need it. Believe me, I understand this because I am one of those Musicians. One of the finest trumpet players I have ever heard, is my Friend Chris LaBarbera. Chris is not only a World class Jazz trumpet player, but he is also a wonderful teacher. Chris and I share a love of the great Harry James, and all things trumpet. In August of 2018, Chris took a severe accidental fall. The accident was in no way his fault. Not only did the fall leave Chris with a badly dislocated shoulder, but his knee was damaged, and several tendons and ligaments were torn. He has been unable to play his trumpet, because he can hardly lift his good arm. This has resulted in him losing countless gigs and is unable to work. This left Chris’ Wife Victoria as the sole breadwinner for them and their two daughters. Adding insult to injury, Victoria has been laid off from her job. Although she has been looking for another job, it is not the best time to get a new job in South Florida. The purpose of this Go Fund Me campaign, is to help Chris and Victoria to pay their rent on January 1st. And to assist in giving them a little breathing room until circumstances change. Chris has mounting medical bills with no insurance. Any gifts given the LaBarberas will go directly to their Paypal account. Christmas time is a tough time to have a cloud of anxiety over your head.
