Gunner's Run Fund: 1 surgery down, 1 to go!!

Gunner was rescued from the Sedona Humane Society in 2014 by his family and brought to live in Flagstaff.  He lives with Andrea, Sam and his best buddy Freckles the Chow Chow, but also lives part-time with his running and adventure companion, Dave.  

Gunner is an athlete, explorer, thinker, and inquisitor.  He has a soft heart, wise nature, and expansive soul that touches everyone he meets.  

When Gunner was out on one of his running adventures in mid-March in the desert east of Flagstaff, he tore his left CCL (similar to an ACL in humans).  The initial vet visits indicated that a wait-and-see approach for 2-3 weeks would tell whether or not he could go the physical therapy route or whether he would need surgery.  After 3 weeks, he checked back in with his vet who said that he needed surgery because he was in a great deal of pain with no improvements with the movement or use of his leg.  

Unfortunately, the very next day he tore his right CCL just going out to the bathroom in the backyard, and now cannot walk more than a few steps, let alone run, before he topples over. 

We did not have the $5,000 needed for the two surgeries and following rehabilitation, but because of generous support from our family, friends, and community we were able to raise $2,500 and Gunner was able to have first surgery on April 22nd.  It went really well and he is recovering quickly.  He will need to wait 8 weeks before he can have his next surgery.  

We want him to have the best care possible so he can have more adventures, but we really need the help our of family, friends, community, and dog lovers everywhere to be able to afford the second surgery.  Please consider making a donation to help Gunner get the surgery he needs.  Anything helps!  Thank you!!
