Journalist to Turkey and Syria

At this time there is still a crisis in  Syria. The Syrian Civil War has been going on for over 7 years. Millions of people have been impacted and displaced.  The government controls the majority of media within their borders. As a result, as a freelance journalist, I am looking to travel to Turkey in order to report from the borders and refugee camps in locations surrounding Syria to get answers. I have also reached out to the Canadian Consulate in Turkey and the Syrian Ministry of Information in attempts to gain authorization to enter Syria as a freelance journalist. The risks to safety are huge but the need for honest reporting is even larger. The goal is to raise the funds required and submit the reports, videos, photos etc through online services for use. This inlcudes all media outlets, individuals, online services etc, so that it is clearly open and honest reports with absolutely no commercial, political or corporate influence. There may be certain regulations in Syria and Turkey that will need to be followed and respected in order to continue the project while following the local laws and regulations.  In kind contributions also welcomed. Funds raised which are not used for the project will be donated to qualified and proven humanitarian organizations in the region to help those impacted.
