Iga is now 2 years old. It is also 2 years of our fight with her illness. Every day we watch hopelessly how epilepsy takes away her childhood and physical ability to do anything. This despair was brightened with Iga’s smile. That is because of your help and help of the specialists from Schön Klinik in Germany.
For a long time, we were looking for doctors and therapists who could give Iga a chance for better life. We found hope at the Schön Klinik – a place that specializes in childhood epilepsy. Last year stay at the Klinik changed ours and our daughter’s life.
Iga was diagnosed with genetic brain abnormality that causes epilepsy and movement difficulties. The doctors at the Schön Klinik did not give up on us. Thanks to the rehabilitation our daughter’s life improved. Iga’s spine muscles strengthened and she receives therapy that is preparing her muscles to learn how to seat. Doctors at the Klinik changed medication that wasn’t helping with the seizures and was stopping Iga’s development. Thanks to the new medication epileptic seizures decreased significantly and Iga started to smile. Another visit to the Schön Klinik gives us another chance to accomplish more than a smile.
We continue our fight with looseness of Iga’s body and movement coordination. We believe that thanks to accurate rehabilitation and precisely selected medication Iga will be able to stand on her own.
Every time Iga smiles we believe that our goal is real and that we have right to the fight for better life for our baby.
