Dee's Breast Cancer Fight

Our sister, a Mom, a favorite Aunt, a loyal friend and very much loved one, Dee Guell, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, also known as Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, with HER 2+ on November 28th, of 2018.

After 3 Ultrasounds and demanding a biopsy in her hometown, she sought a second opinion at the UW Madison in Wisconsin with a well known Breast Cancer Specialist. They wanted to go in blindly in her hometown and perform surgery on January 4th. After seeing the specialist in Madison they performed a biopsy while performing an MRI and determined she had a mass of over 5 cm to be removed, which was attempted on Feb 7th, only to find out they needed to go in and remove more breast tissue.

After these two surgeries it was determined that she needs a complete mastectomy. She is currently waiting for that surgery to take place. She is also currently going through more tests to determine what her personalized treatment plan will be after the mastectomy (chemo, radiation, or a drug treatment plan). It is just so scary with so many unknown variables.

Madison is not close enough for her make a daily drive for any treatment plan. It has already been exhausting for her with the multiple trips she has had to make with countless more ahead of her. For those of you who know her, she is not the type of person to want any attention on herself and is the most selfless person you will ever meet. She would give the clothes off of her back to help someone in need. She is constantly thinking about other people and helping people when she can.

We love her so much and now it is our turn to give back for all those times she has helped others.

She needs our help as she fights this battle against breast cancer.
