Help Dave Reeves Start Over

Donation protected
On Friday, September 14, Dave and his daughter, who was visiting with her 18 month old son and her dog Chewie, took Dave, who is legally blind, lives alone and is disabled, to pick up some essentials at the store before going to visit his mother out of town.    An hour and 10 minutes later a Good Samaritan saw smoke coming from the back of Dave's house, and soon after, his house was in flames.    Inside were three beloved pets, including two of Dave's own, his daughters dog and  countless irreplaceable items.    Link to News Story;  http://www.maryvilledailyforum.com/news/article_c748de7c-ba95-11e8-8312-7f775181462e.html#utm_campaign=blox&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social  Dave Reeves, a long time resident of the NW Missouri Area, has lived in Maryville for over 20 years.  Many may remember him from the years working at the 1-2-3 Music Store locations in Maryville Missouri,  and Kawasaki and Energizer in the mid to late 80s and early 90s and previously with Pa and Ma Automotive and the Chevy Garage as a parts saleman in Maryville.   Over the years Dave has also gave countless guitar lessons to young, aspiring musicians, many whom he remains in contact with today.    Prior to moving to Maryville in the mid 1990s, he lived in Burlington Junction Missouri and grew up in Tarkio (Deloris and Jesse Reeves).  Those who know Dave, know that he is a talented musician, and was a founding member of several local bands including "The Country Blue Notes (1970s/80s),  Honky Tonk Heroes (1980s/early 90s), and currently "Off The Cuff".   He also loves his '54 Chevy Bel Air (his first car), and has a fondness for military memorabilia from WW1 to the Vietnam War era.  His personally acquired knowledge of music and talent earned him the title of "Doctor Dave" from his friends and guitar students.  Over 65 years of Dave's life's work, including personally done pen and ink artwork, paintings and photographs, instruments and the life of his beloved pet "Buddy" were lost due in the fire. Dave's only family consists of his son (Eric) lives in California and daughter (Janessa) in Iowa and was with him the day of the fire,  and three young grandchildren and a sister in Washington state.  His Mother (Deloris) lives in Tarkio, and is in poor health.    He has lived alone for many years, depending on the help, and generosity of neighbors, and long time friends to see him to and from places he needs to go.   Dave is now homeless, and severely broken hearted. Dave was fortunate enough to have insurance to cover the remaining mortgage balance, but lacks the funds needed to tear down his destroyed home and either relocate or rebuild.  Those few priceless possessions he has need extensive smoke and fire repair, with many being a total loss. Without funds to do so, they too will also be lost and even the last few pieces of what makes Dave, "Dave" will also be gone.  Little by little, drop by drop, even the smallest help can grow to a lot! Please join in helping Dave be able to find a new home,  restore what is left that can be, and try to resume some normalcy once again and help give Dave and his family a place to come home to once again.
