I've been out of work since January. My unemployment ran out in July. I have no source of income and the state of the job market is killing me.
I have never experienced anything like this before in my career. I am used to getting job offers immediately. But, I'm at the maximum for my role's pay scale and the senior-level Administrative Assistant jobs are so few that the competition for them is brutal right now. I've even tried applying for lower level positions, but I'm overqualified and get brushed off.
I'm continuing my search, but in the meantime, my $1,100 rent was due on Sunday, utilities and car insurance are due, and I have $50 to my name.
I'm working on getting a WIOA grant to go back to school and get training for a new, sustainable career. I'm going to keep on looking for a job, any job, as well.
I am never the one to ask for help. I usually am the one helping others. But I'm desperate right now. It's crushing me to have to seek charity like this.
When I explained this situation to my landlord, he gave me until noon on Wednesday to get him the rent or he'll have to contact his attorney to start the eviction process. I respect and understand his position, even if I don't like it.
If you can possibly share any amount, it'll be a tremendous help; either toward the September rent, or moving expenses. (Monthly: Rent $1095, car insurance $150, AT&T $240, ComEd $150, Storage $75, car payment $140; One-time $75 late fee; Additional expenses are being covered by family temporarily)
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for me getting a job ASAP and being able to stay put in my apartment until I'm over this hurdle.
If you have a job lead for a senior-level Administrative Assistant specializing in supporting national sales teams and C-level executives, or project and event coordination, or proposals and contracts management with a wage in the $55k+/$27 hr. range, please pass it on. I'm happy to do temp, contract, contract to hire, and direct hire. I've worked in the pharmaceuticals, hospitality, giant retail, and technology industries.
