Bunny Eaton's Burial Expenses

Donation protected
Greetings family and friends. During the Hurricane Irma evacuation, and on our way to my cousin Qiana Jackson's memorial service, my mother, DaFondeau "Bunny" Eaton, passed away in the back seat of my car in the arms of her two grandsons (seen in the photo).

Congestive heart failure issues constricted my mother's breathing as we were driving through the mountains of Jasper, Tennessee. Unable to find an off-ramp only exagerated the situation. By the time I finally found an off-ramp it was too late to administer CPR. She was gone. I kind of knew that in the car, but it was matter of getting somewhere I could stop the car safely, getting her out of the car and trying to bring her back. I tried desperately to revive her, but failed in my efforts. The emergency rescue team showed up quickly and worked tirelessly to bring her back as well, to no avail.

Bunny, as she's called by her family and friends, was a very loving and loved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Known to never sugar-coat anything made her the source of advice and encouraging words for many of her family and friends.

To me, she was an awesome mother. I called her the walking encyclopedia because there was rarely an issue that I ran across her that she didn't either have the answer for or knew of a source/resource to resolve said issue.

She always told me she had insurance to cover her final expenses. However, because of the evacuation, I am unable to return to Southeast Georgia to retrieve this information any time soon, and her religious beliefs require that she be put in the ground immediately.

The requested funds will be used to retrieve her body from the morgue in Jasper, TN, have it shipped to the burial grounds, pay for her burial and funeral services, and pay for some assistance in moving all of her belongings out of her place and into temporary storage.

The funds are needed immediately because my family and I would like to have her service Sunday, September 17th. We are extending our stay beyond the time recommended for the evacuation because returning to Georgia, only to have to return to Chicago, where she's originally from, or Madison, Wisconsin, where she laid her roots, just for her memorial service is beyond the limits of our budget.  We simply can't afford it.

We want to pay a great tribute to my mother, and do so in a fashion that isn't extravagant or over the top, as she adamantly expressed her desire not to be buried this way.

Her son, me, Lee Jackson, will be in charge of her final expenses and will be able to be contacted via Facebook, Lee Dyse Jackson.
