Hello friends and family!
I'm Jaclyn Atkins and my cousin Joshua Aversa was on vacation with his girlfriend Stephanie in Costa Rica when he got into a very serious ATV accident.
We are told that Josh was found alone on the side of the road by some other Canadian tourists and they called for help.
He is currently in hospital in Liberia, Costa Rica with his girlfriend Steph by his side.
As of now, he is having trouble breathing and his condition is still very critical. He has not woken up and has several brain bleeds both surface and deep. As of 1am this morning his was sweating profusely and had clammy hands and feet and his toes are curled.
If you know me personally, many of you know I have experienced a similar situation with my sister. It was extremely hard on my immediate family as well as my very large extended family. This situation feels even more helpless because our family (and it's a big one) isn't at his bed side and able to speak with his doctors directly.
Over the past few hours our family has come together and is getting closer to getting him medically evacuated and back home here in Toronto.

We have been given a quote from "Angels of Flight" and the air ambulance is going to cost $37,500 USD (almost $50,000 CAD).
$50,000 CAD only would only be just covering his transportation. There are still many medical costs involved in the situation. (His parents flights to and from CR, Time off work, Housing near the hospital, Food while in the hospital, etc.)
I have created this page on behalf of my aunt (Gail Gross) to ask the friends and family of Josh to please come together in this time of need and bring him home so we can be with him every step of the way on his medical journey to recovery.
We are thankful for anything you can donate. Even if you just repost his campaign, getting the message out there helps!
