Help Beaudin's Battle Against Leukemia

Donation protected
On January 16th our dear friends, Josh and Betsy Larrabee, heard the news that no parent is prepared to receive.  It’s Leukemia. Later that day at Children’s Hospital Colorado, a bone marrow biopsy confirmed that their six-year old son, Beaudin, has acute lymphoblastic leukemia (A.L.L).

Beau has already started his first round of inpatient chemo, a regime which will span over the next 36 months.  Josh and Betsy have started this journey with all the faith, love, courage, grace, and fierceness as is humanly possible.  And dare I say, joy and humor?  Because this is them and this is life.  Their life, anyway, for the next 3 years.  And although we have no doubt that this undying commitment and vigor will remain the theme of their story, it will also be nothing less than hard and exhausting.  A journey that is not possible without the support of their loving village.  The most intense portion of Beau’s 3-year treatment is this initial 6-9 months.  During this time, a significant portion of “normal life” will be affected. He will not be able to attend school with any regularity, as he will have 2-3 full day appointments at Children’s Hospital in Aurora each week, plus the added potential of overnight stays depending on many variables. Beau’s one-year old sister, Selah, will not be able to attend the frequent hospital visits, adding the need for childcare to Josh and Betsy’s logistical list.

So many friends of the Larrabees have been asking what they can do to help.   While we can’t take away the heavy burden of what this disease is and will be adding to their lives, we can lighten the load of the day-to-day with our financial support.  An answer to our “we love you, how can we help?!?!” cries.  A tangible and direct way to offer our love and support of this amazing family.

Funding will help support:
·   the extreme cost of treatment that is estimated to exceed their
    insurance’s cap
·   tutoring for Beaudin to remain at grade level while unable to attend
    school consistently
·   house cleaning services (to help maintain the nearly-sterile
environment Beau will need to stay strong, postured to fight)
·   childcare for Selah during Beau’s ongoing chemotherapy treatments
    & hospital visits
·   toll road fees from Longmont to Aurora multiple times/week
(doctors explained how shocked most parents are at this amount)

Let’s shower them with our love in the form of financial support, in hopes of making this journey a little more bearable.  Thank you a million times over for your prayers and loving presence during this difficult road.  Each is strongly felt and cherished by this grateful crew of Larrabees.
