HELP NICKI BEAT SARCOMA CANCER!
On June 23,2014 Nicki was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) which is a very rare and aggressive soft tissue cancer of the uterus. For the next 6 months Nicki has been on a virtual roller coaster ride as several pathologists were in disagreement on the actual diagnosis of her specific type cancer. However, during her follow up CT scan it was noticed the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. After a final diagnosis at MD Anderson it was decided Nicki would undergo Chemo treatment using conventional medicine.
However, after the follow up CT scan in March of 2015, halfway thru the chemo treatments, it was further noticed the cancer was not responding and had actually spread to additional lymph nodes, her pelvic region and lungs. At that time it was decided by her oncologist to immediately discontinue this specific Chemo treatment and try an alternative chemo treatment. Unfortunately, as was mentioned above due the rarity of this specific type of cancer there is not a lot of statistics on the effectiveness of conventional chemo on this cancer.
During this time Nicki and her family diligently researched Naturopathic/Holistic medicine and located a very well known and respected Naturopathic doctor in Seattle. Subsequently they decided to try an alternative form of treatment in conjunction with the conventional chemo treatment.
Nicki just had another scan in June and was elated to find out that not only was there not any additional spreading of the cancer but all of it had shrunk. Needless to say this was the happiest day in her life.
Nicki and her family has decided to continue the Naturopathic treatments along with the conventional chemo . However, this is not covered under traditional insurance plans and at $7.000 per treatment, with the possibility of 10 or more treatments, this has put a heavy burden on them financially. They are not, under any circumstances going to discontinue anything they have done to achieve these outstanding results. David and Nicki have committed to donating any remaining funds from this campaign to assist Sarcoma research and others fighting this disease.
It is also very important to mention that this unconventional treatment has never been tested on anyone in the country. This treatment has the possibility of helping out thousands of other people diagnosed with this terrible disease in the future.
