Help Andrew and His Family

Donation protected
While everybody was battoning down the hatches today in preparation for storm Emma, Andrew, his partner and their three small children became homeless earlier this morning in Tralee, Co. Kerry.

At approximately 10.30am this morning, Andrew's house began to fill with smoke. Andrew immediately went towards the back of the house to investigate and it was then he realised that the house attached to him next door was up in flames.

Andrew immediately went next door and checked the handles of the back doors and they were way too hot to open so he then immediately called the Firebrigade. Andrew rushed back into his house with the full knowledge that he had to get his partner and the three kids out of the house as fast as possible.

There was no time to grab anything. From that point forward Andrew and his family were outside their home looking at what was unfolding in front of them. Their neighbours house was being engulfed in flames as they watched in horror.

It took the emergency services approximately fifteen minutes to get to the scene. Friendly neighbours took in the kids as Andrew and his partner called his mother and sister to come into Tralee as soon as possible.

By the time his sister and mother arrived at the scene, it became apparent that not only was there damage done, there was not much left of Andrews family home. All that they pretty much had was the very clothes on their backs.

The fire was started in the neighbouring house and spread to the home, engulfing many priceless family items that belonged to his great grandmother.  Damage was done to the rest of the house with the kitchen destroyed by fire damage. The rest of the house was damaged by smoke and water and left uninhabitable with significant structural damage.

Andrew, his partner and the children are now officially homeless through no fault of their own. They have no stuff other than what was scraped together before being taken to his mom's home some 25 miles away.

Andrew and his family need items for the children such as clothes, toys and books. Andrew's only concern is that of the children, but we know that Andrew and his partner need stuff too. When they do finally find a new home, they will have nothing to put in it and that's what we are trying to raise money for.

His partner Emma has only just moved in last week with her two children to become one family unit with Andrew and his daughter. At a time where they were looking forward to their future as a family, their lives have been turned upside down.

Any donations no matter how small is greatly appreciated. No words will ever articulate the gratitude our family will have.

Thank you all so much <3
