Our son, Luke, is 3 years old and is exceptionally smart, funny, permanently happy and extremely sociable. He also happens to have cerebral palsy. As a result of this serious physical disability - caused by brain damage resulting from his premature birth - our beautiful boy is an extremely intelligent 3-year old boy trapped in the body of an 8-month old. His daily activities, education and entire development are constantly limited by the movement and mobility difficulties he faces.
However, Luke is making amazing progress thanks to a particular method of therapy called MNRI /Masgutova method (https://masgutovafoundation.org/ Yes, that is our little Luke on the "Stories to Inspire" page wearing his blue Sheffield Wednesday shirt!). This therapy has drastically altered the course of Luke's development for the better and continues to do so. Unfortunately, however, this therapy is not covered by insurance and we have to pay every cent of it ourselves.
We have set up this fundraising page to raise funds to take Luke to another intensive MNRI therapy course in Poland. After a week in Poland in February 2017 Luke returned home and immediately pulled up to stand the day after we got home!!! This is a huge milestone and we were in floods of tears when he did it. And here's a video of this wonderful milestone moment on February 27, 2017.

We have paid for 7 intensive MNRI therapy courses ourselves but now we need to ask for your help to keep it up. MNRI is changing Luke's life and his future. We are confident that one more MNRI course will get him walking. After pulling up to stand just a few weeks ago, he's well and truly on the path to walking now. We're so proud of his progress and how hard he works every day. Because of his disability it takes a year for him to achieve milestones that typical toddlers reach from one day to the next effortlessly and we are in constant awe of his grit and determination. Walking will give him the freedom to participate more actively at school and in everday life. It's a crucial skill that marks the difference between a limited, disabled life and a fully able one. He's so close to walking now.
