Help with vet bills for Louie

Donation protected
This is Louie. Also known as Lucifer! He is a guy, always causing a commotion and looking for attention. He is a Jack Russell and has boundless energy and love. He is part of a fantastic family, full of love for each other, animals, and the world. His sister is a giant Bull Mastiff/Boxer mix, and he is always nipping at her feet and coaxing her to play! He is only one year old and has enough spunk to last a lifetime.

On Tuesday, September 4th, he was rolled over by a passing car. They didn't stop. They just left him there. Louie is in training to stay in the yard but is easily distracted and wants to chase things. We watch him closely, but no one is perfect.

Louie is currently at almost $4,000 vet bills and will still require lots of therapy after all his vet visits stop. He has been staying during the day at Bath/Brunswick Veterinary Clinic in Brunswick, Maine and being transferred every evening to Animal Emergency Clinic of mid-Maine in Lewiston, Maine. Both of these clinics have been outstanding in their care both for patients and owners and deserve recognition of quality.

Hopefully tonight, Friday, September 7th, he can come home and spend the night. He is not his spunky self and is having trouble with every move but is starting to recognize his surroundings. He is so loved by his family, and we just want him to live a quality life.

His owners are residents of the Bath, Maine community and are living examples of love, hard work, and perseverance. Their story is one of young sweethearts going on 40+ years of marriage. Raising a family of five children to be givers of love and compassion above all else. All this with a sense of commitment to community and charity, themselves being frequent sponsors and donators for charitable causes. Persevering through some of the roughest situations life can have to offer, including breast cancer, these two always preach "happy, healthy & safe." They have been a part of the beautiful community of Bath for over 20 years, all kids attending the local schools.

To have someone in the community run over your dog causes an understandably angry and sad response, on top of the poor dog itself being in pain. It has been a rough couple of days for Little Lucky Louie and the family, but everyone is pitching in however they can, with both emotional and physical support. (Our family is known for lifting each other up during the hard times!)

The kids all want to set up this GoFundMe not only to help relieve some of the financial burdens of this terrible accident but also to show community support for them! We would like them to know they are loved and appreciated both by all the kids and the community itself, both local and worldwide! Help us to show that love conquers all!!!

Thanks, world!
