Help With Cancer Costs And Dream...

My name is Marc Lowell. I am a 56 year old male and recovering alcoholic of 28 years who resides in Ottawa Ontario Canada.  I found out five months ago (from a biopsy done by my family doctor) that I have a Squamous Anal Cancer Tumour. I have Anal Cancer. The Prognosis is not good at present. I am now in my second week of Chemoradiation here in Ottawa at the Cancer Centre At The Ottawa General Hospital( two weeks of Chemo and 6 weeks of Radiation Treatments). I may have to be hospitalized if i get a serious burn infection from Radiation. I have been more or less a healthy person all my life.

I guess getting older serious  medical things can start to happen? I also suffer from a painful Anal Fissure. Two major problems for the price of one! I suffer daily from severe pain and strange bowel habits. I have not being sleeping well because of the stress of continuos expenses and the unknown. I am currently collecting a Government Fixed Income. This is my sole income source. I do Dumpster Diving for extra pennies looking for recyclable beer and wine bottles and dabble from time to time in Historical Ottawa Research work. Very minimal earnings. Cannot sit well these days because of my anal problems so this work is not going on at present.  Not all my expenses are covered. I have no family and limited friends. I am fighting this Cancer battle more or less alone.

Two close friends have been helping me financially with many over the counter creams, lotions diapers clothes and much needed household items as well as Prescriptions that are not covered by my drug plan and one friend has been driving me to and from my various appointments so far. However I feel like the one major friend is my only beneficary and is getting burned out with me financially and emotionally. He needs a break. My last living relative (my brother Tony) died at age of 50 from Throat Cancer. My request for starting this GoFundMe Campaign is Two Fold. First with creeping ongoing medical expenses not covered by the Provincial Government and unseen expenses for my treatment that may or may not be covered down the road.

Years ago I volunteered for an AA oldtimer who himself was battling throat and limb cancer. He could not walk. I assisted him by walking and grooming his two Scotch Collie Rough Dogs. I walked them around the Rideau Canal here in Ottawa for over two years. He has since passed. In exchange for my help he was able to send me and a guest on beautiful exotic holidays Metal Detecting in the Carribean in Aruba and Punta Cana Dominican Republic plus an unreal 17 day trip to the UK in the South at Chichester and Ely searching farmer's fields and castle ruins for Roman Historical Artifacts and coins. I found some very interesting items and met some wonderful locals into this interesting hobby. 



This brings me too the second part of my Campaign Goal and or Bucket List Dream. I would really enjoy the chance to get away somewhere nice after treatment. Problems though are the many continuing bills that are a daily struggle. Any support would be much appreciated.


There are some terrible scams on this site and other Crowd Funding Sites that hurt legitimate people looking for assistance. You can be the Judge and Jury if you want to contribute to this Campaign or not. Have set up a Trust Account for any monies raised. If you require proof of my diagnosis I could send you various documents from my Cancer Care Specialists at the Ottawa General Cancer Care Centre (but a photo of my 'tumour on my right butt cheek' is way over the top to post here in my opinion and really gross! So I will refrain from posting it to this Campaign).
