Help Vincent Walk Again
Hey everyone. This is not an easy thing to do. But I have an appeal for help. My brother Vincent crashed an ultra light aircraft back in late September. He is incredibly intelligent, a highly competetent pilot and he was flying responsibly, but circumstances that day were beyond his control.
His feet and lower body took the harshest of impact. Due to the extent of his injuries he had some damage to his lower back and also underwent a below-the-knee amputation of his right leg in order to prevent further infection. He is strong and determined to reenter life and he needs (1) a prosthesis and (2) continued physical therapy to retrain his body; the cost of which is considerable and overwhelming. This is a real and urgent need.
The costs could be more than $40,000 (when considering future therapy and the cost of a replacement prosthetic every few years) and Vincent has neither the finances nor the potential resources at the current time to meet this challenge.
My brother is a young and athletic man. He wants to recover and go back to work as soon as possible. He needs to be able to live an independent life again. He came so close to dying. But he did not. He has been faithful in his attitude and his therapy, and I thank all who helped him and my family during this crisis. Now our Vincent needs to walk again. And you can help.
